Consistent Effort with a Strong Start and Key Splits Raul's race strategy demonstrated a notable start with an impressive first mile, clocking in at 11:03 minutes. This early pace placed him well within his division. Noteworthy was the 8:21 minute mile at the 4th mile, which was the fastest split of the race, significantly improving his overall standing. His overall elapsed time for the half marathon was 3:20:04. Raul maintained a steady average pace of 15:16 min/mile, completing the half marathon against a diverse field of 1772 participants. Although he experienced some gradual slowing towards the latter miles, Raul showed resilience in negotiating those sections, ending with a strong finish in the top area of his age division. He competed as a member of the Up and Running Again team, reflecting both personal and group accomplishments. Incremental improvements in pacing variation may yield even more competitive results in future races.
