Consistent Early Splits Shift to a Challenging Finish Line Effort Sung Chan Kim demonstrated a strong pace in the initial stages of the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon, showcasing impressive control over his splits. His first split clocked in at 7:40 minutes per mile, and he consistently improved his split times, achieving a swift 7:04 pace between miles 9 and 10. Notably, Sung Chan maintained a sub-7:30 pace up to mile 13, showing early strength and pacing strategy. Throughout the marathon, his overall placement experienced fluctuations, with a peak performance placed at 193rd overall by mile 12. In the latter stage of the marathon, Sung Chan encountered a slight decrease in pace. For instance, his final mile slowed to a pace of 9:27. Despite this, he completed the marathon with an overall time of 3:22:21, averaging a 7:43 pace per mile.
