Strong Mid-Race Recovery Boosts Performance Phil Ciccone demonstrated resilience and determination in the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon Half. Opening the race with a solid pace of 10:24 min/mile for the first mile, his pace fluctuated initially, peaking at 12:03 min/mile by mile five. However, he made a commendable recovery, showing increased consistency from mile six onwards, maintaining an average pace of approximately 11:14 min/mile through to the finish. His overall time was 2:28:42, with an average pace of 11:21 min/mile. Significantly, Phils performance improved as the race progressed, advancing from 1302nd place overall at one point to finishing 1159th among 1772 participants. His placement in the M45-49 division was 29th, showing that he held a strong competitive edge within his age group. One area to consider for future races could be stabilizing the pace in the earlier miles, which might lead to even stronger results.
