Steady Start with Later Challenges Derrick Johnson from Las Vegas, NV, participated in the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon, completing the half marathon distance of 13.1 miles in 2:09:51 with an overall pace of 9:54 min/mile. He began with a strong first mile at 7:57 min/mile and maintained a steady pace through the first half of the race. Notably, Derrick made a comeback in mile 3 with an impressive 7:56 split pace, which was his fastest segment. The latter part of the race presented some challenges. During mile 12, Derrick's pace slowed to 10:40 min/mile, and the last mile topped 19 minutes. Focusing on pacing strategy could benefit future performance and overall ranking.
