Strong Start Fades in Second Half Luke Underwood delivered a performance with standout moments at the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon Half Marathon. Kicking off the race with an impressive 4:53 pace for the first mile, he positioned himself strongly as 12th overall. His speed remained consistent through the early stages, notably achieving a 5:08 pace by mile four, where he was placed 8th overall within the male category. However, as the race progressed, maintaining the initial pace proved challenging. By mile 10, the pace slowed to 6:37, dropping overall placement to 14th. Ending the race at 1:19:01 with a 6:01 average pace for the full half marathon, Luke finished 17th overall in a field of 1772 participants. Importantly, he placed 5th within his age division, M35-39. Future strategic adjustments on pacing during the latter half might help in maintaining the competitive momentum established at the start.
