Strong Division Leader Maintains Intense Pace Throughout the Race Schuyler Malak demonstrated remarkable pace control and strategic racing in the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon. He maintained a steady pace throughout the race, initially starting with a 6:10 min/mile pace at mile one. Schuyler then achieved his fastest split at mile eight, clocking in at an impressive 5:20 min/mile pace. Throughout the marathon, he held a strong second position at miles 12 to 16 and consistently led his division, placing first in the M25-29 category for most of the race. However, a noticeable deceleration occurred in the latter stages, with split times increasing from a pace of 5:29 min/mile at mile 16 to 8:21 min/mile by mile 26. This drop in pace saw Schuyler finish with an overall time of 2:41:48. Despite this, his performance was commendable, finishing 11th overall out of 1,879 participants and securing a third place in his division. Concentrating on sustaining split times closer to his early race pace could see even better results in the future.
