Consistent Performance with Strategic Efforts Emily maintained a steady pace throughout the race, averaging an 8:53 min/mile over the 13.1-mile half marathon, completing it in 1:56:27. She began strong with a 1-mile split of 8:34, progressively improving her position within the first few miles. The third mile marked her fastest pace at 7:53 min/mile, advancing her standing by eliminating places in her division and gender category. From miles 4 to 10, Emily demonstrated consistency, strategically pacing in the 8:20-8:56 min/mile range, which helped her sustain her rank. Despite a slower 11th-mile split at 11:13 min/mile, she recovered by finishing with an 8:56 min/mile in the last mile. Her placement at 32nd in her division and contributing to her team's performance as part of MILITARY showcases a solid run. While maintaining consistent splits was commendable, working on the later-mile endurance can help mitigate any pace slowdowns in future races.
