Strong Finish with Increasing Pace David Fundingsland displayed exemplary progress throughout the 7.02-mile event at the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon. Starting with an 8:59 min/mile pace, David strategically cut down his pace, finishing strong with a remarkable last mile at 6:16 min/mile. His final elapsed pace stood at 7:48 min/mile, and he achieved a commendable 7th place in his M35-39 division out of 1365 total participants. A noteworthy observation is his leap in placement after mile 4. David advanced from 59th overall after mile 4 to 39th by the finish. This suggests that his endurance and pacing strategy were effectively executed in the latter half of the race. Considering the pacing evolution, focusing on maintaining or slightly increasing the pace from the start could enhance overall performance. Analyzing early race strategy and maintaining consistent pacing throughout could yield even better results in future races.
