Steady Gains with Variable Pace Matthew Swenson completed the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon's 7.02-mile event with a final time of 1:11:42, averaging a pace of 10:12 minutes per mile. He began the race with a split time of 11:10 for the first mile and showed significant improvement by mile four, clocking a split pace of 9:29. This strong stretch advanced him to 275th place overall. Although his pace increased slightly in the fifth mile at 10:39, Matthew managed to regain momentum with a swift finish, achieving a final split time of 9:47, leading to a 25th place finish in the M40-44 division. Reflecting on previous performance, Matthew's pace was notably slower this year compared to his outstanding 9:14 min/mile pace at the 2024 Las Vegas Marathon, where he placed 11th in his division.
