Dominant Division Win with Consistent Pace Jaxon McDonald demonstrated strong pacing and strategic racing, earning a first-place finish in his M19-24 division at the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon. With an overall placement of 5th out of 1,879 participants, Jaxon showcased a tenacity that allowed him to improve his standing consistently throughout the race. Starting with a 6:35 min/mile in the first mile, he quickly found his rhythm, maintaining a rapid and steady pace. From mile 6 onward, Jaxon consistently ran sub-6-minute miles, even securing splits of 5:40 and 5:30 at miles 7 and 14 respectively. While the final third of the race saw slight pace reductions to around 6 minutes per mile, Jaxon maintained an impressive average pace of 6:00 min/mile over the entire course. Emphasizing his strength in maintaining pace, future training might focus on sustaining high performance in the later miles for even stronger finishes.
