Strong Mid-Race Splits, Late Fade Observed The 2025 Las Vegas Marathon saw Takuya Kosaka execute a strong performance with an initial brisk pace. He started with a 7:25 min/mile split, quickly improving to a series of sub-7-minute miles through miles 3 to 10. Notably, his fastest split occurred at mile 7, clocking in at 6:29 min/mile, demonstrating impressive speed and stamina during the middle portion of the race. His consistent pacing allowed him to maintain competitive positioning, maintaining 4th place in the M55-59 division through mile 10. However, from mile 17 onwards, splits started to trend slower, exceeding 8 minutes per mile and reaching as high as 11:53 at mile 24. This deceleration affected his placement, ultimately finishing 11th in his division. To enhance performance in future races, focusing on stamina training for the final race stages could be beneficial. Overall, finishing with an elapsed time of 3:25:55 is commendable, considering the strong start and mid-race effort.
