Steady Start, Challenging Finish Josef Cubias participated in the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon, tackling the half marathon segment with determination. Starting off strong, Josef logged a pace of 9:44 min/mile for the first mile, ranking 992nd overall. However, as the race progressed, his pace slowed, with splits showing a consistent increase in elapsed times towards the latter part of the race. By the midpoint, around mile 6, his overall pace had shifted to 10:56 min/mile, illustrating a steady descent in speed. Unfortunately, the latter miles proved increasingly challenging, with the 9th mile taking 16:27 and the final mile stretching to 25:23. Josef completed the 13.1 miles with an overall time of 3:19:22, ranking 1572nd out of 1772 participants. Notably, the best segment was during the first mile, maintaining a proactive start. Reviewing pacing strategy could lead to improvements in upcoming events. Great team spirit was shown representing Brenda's Minions.
