Consistent Pace and Strong Finish in Division Grant Mattox delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon, maintaining a strong pace with an overall time of 2:48:26 for the 26.2-mile course. He held an average pace of 6:25 min/mile. Notably, Grant excelled in the M35-39 division, securing 2nd place. A highlight of his performance was his adaptability: he maintained impressive split times with a faster pace at mile 6 (5:45 min/mile) and mile 7 (5:44 min/mile). Grant started in 17th place overall and improved his position to reach as high as 14th by mile 12. His strategic pacing helped maintain his placement in the top 20 overall throughout the race. While there was a slight slowdown in the last few miles, it appears Grant has an opportunity to work on maintaining speed at the later stages. Overall, his consistent pacing and strong mid-race splits were commendable and suggest room for strategic improvements in the late stages of the race.
