Steady Pace Gains Yield Strong Marathon Performance Julius Ancheta demonstrated impressive pacing strategy during the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon. Starting with a 10:56 min/mile at mile 1, he improved significantly to finish the marathon with an average pace of 8:59 min/mile. His split times showed a strong trend of steady improvement, particularly noticeable in the first half of the race. Notably, between miles 5 and 8, he consistently brought his pace down from 9:16 min/mile to 8:10 min/mile. Julius's race execution allowed him to consistently improve his position throughout the event, moving up from 1250th place to a finish at 566th place overall. His performance stood out in the M40-44 division, moving from 98th to finishing as the 49th. The ability to maintain a controlled pace through the later miles and an effective final push showcased his endurance.
