Emalina's Steady Pace with Notable Strategic Intervals During the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon, Emalina demonstrated a controlled and steady pace across the half marathon. Initially, she maintained a strong 9:31 min/mile pace in the first mile, placing 78th in her division. As the race progressed, her pace varied, peaking in the sixth mile with an elapsed pace of 10:26 min/mile and finishing with an average pace of 11:46 min/mile. Her final time was 2:34:12, with an overall gender placement of 557 out of 1772 participants. Emalina maintained a consistent pace in the first half of the race, ending her race ranked 111th in her division. In the latter half, there was a marked deceleration in the pace from mile seven onward with peak single-mile times like 14:26 in mile eleven. As a coach, I suggest focusing on endurance and maintaining energy levels to sustain initial pace in future races. Consider intervals and endurance training to minimize late-race slowing.
