Strong Start, Maintaining Pace Key Challenge Kora Wade showed strong initial pacing at the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon Half Marathon with a 6:17 split for the first mile and a consistent sub-7:00 min/mile pace through the first four miles. She excelled in her division, F25-29, placing first initially. Her overall gender place also started strong as 6th among females. By mile 6, her pace began slowing slightly, maintaining at just over 7:00 min/mile. By mile 5 and onwards, she was placed 3rd in her division. As the mid-section of the race progressed, increasing elapsed time from 7:56 to 9:21 in later splits indicated a pacing challenge. However, Kora showcased significant improvement from her 2024 performance where she finished with a time of 1:52:52. By finishing with an overall race time of 1:39:05 and an average pace of 7:33 min/mile, Kora improved her previous time by more than 13 minutes, indicating substantial progress. Working on sustaining initial pace could enhance future performance.
