Consistent Pace with Notable Early Segment Performance Ernest Nario demonstrated a steady performance at the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon's Half Marathon. Starting strong, his first mile split was completed at an impressive 8:59 min/mile pace, which was his fastest segment. He maintained a relatively consistent pace throughout the initial 6 miles, with times mostly just over the 9-minute mark per mile. This early pacing helped him settle into a rhythm and secure competitive division placements, breaching the top 42 in his age group by the 6th mile. In the latter part of the race, there was a gradual decrease in pace, as evidenced by split times extending up to 11:46 min/mile by the 11th mile. Interestingly, despite this slow down, Ernest managed to improve his overall ranking from 808th to 837th in the final stretches. To optimize future performances, focus on sustaining mid-race paces and gradually working on accelerating in closing miles. Continued participation will yield excellent learning and improvement opportunities.
