Steady Improvement in Pace and Placement Crystal Hadfield demonstrated a consistent improvement throughout the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon, particularly notable in her pacing. Starting with a split pace of 18:48 min/mile, she steadily reduced it, achieving her fastest split pace of 14:56 min/mile in the final mile. Her overall time for the 7.02-mile race was 1:57:08, and her average pace was 16:41 min/mile. Her strategic pacing helped advance her position during the course. She moved from 1155th place overall at the first mile to finish in 1136th. Within her gender category and division (F40-44), she maintained consistent placements. Her placements in these categories were 666th and 74th, respectively. It's great to see the improvement from an elapsed pace perspective compared to a prior half marathon where she held a faster pace on average but over double the distance. Continuing to focus on gradually improving per-mile pace will likely enhance future race performances.
