Strong Start, Consistent Splits, Room to Finish Stronger Jose Guerrero demonstrated swift pacing in the initial miles of the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon, clocking a remarkable 4:50 min/mile during the first mile where he held the top spot in his division. This strong beginning allowed him to secure the lead in his age group multiple times during the race. His pace for the first 3 miles stayed under 5:12 min/mile, showcasing impressive speed and endurance. However, as the race progressed, an increase in split times was observed, peaking at 7:52 min/mile in the eleventh mile. Despite this, Jose maintained a competitive overall pace of 6:20 min/mile, closing with an elapsed time of 1:22:59. His initial strong placement shifted slightly, yet he still achieved commendable rankings, finishing 5th in the M25-29 division. Improving pace consistency in the latter segments could be key to securing a higher division placement in future races.
