Steady Improvement in Marathon Performance Melinda Yelverton, representing her team MILITARY, completed the 2025 Las Vegas Marathon with an elapsed time of 5:25:21, showcasing a noticeable improvement from her previous marathon effort. Maintaining a consistent performance, she recorded an overall pace of 12:25 min/mile, a significant enhancement over her past pace of 13:01 min/mile. Her race strategy included promising splits at several points, such as mile 2 with a pace of 9:33 min/mile, indicative of her capability to manage her energy effectively during the race. Throughout the marathon, Melinda demonstrated resilience, particularly at miles 5 and 6, where she maintained sub-10-minute split times, contributing to her advancement in overall placement. Although the latter part of the race showed slower paces with miles 24 and 25 at over 14 minutes per mile, she sustained her division ranking, finishing 41st among her peers in the F50-54 category.
